The League of Women of Voters of the Space Coast
Looks Ahead to Election Season 2024
The League of Women Voters of the Space Coast celebrated another year serving Brevard County with its Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the POW/MIA Park on US 1 in Melbourne FL.
President Suzanne Taylor pointed out that in this important election year there will be much work ahead requiring many volunteer hours. The League will host tabling events at various venues providing the public with information regarding voter registration and the amendments on their ballot this fall. The LWV-Space Coast will also host candidate forums throughout Brevard County so the voters can hear directly from those wanting their vote! On June 4th, a Citizens Initiative Forum and luncheon will be held at Suntree Country Club. Visit www.lwv-spacecoast.org for further details. The League never supports particular candidates or political parties, thereby remaining non-partisan.
At the Annual Meeting, committee chairmen present their Programs of Work for the new 2024-2025 league year and the new Board of Directors is presented for a membership vote for approval. The programs of work outline each committee’s goals for the new year. This election year the committees outlined how they would support the Voter Services committee throughout the election season. LWV-Space Coast committees include Sustainability, Natural Resources, Education, Social Justice,Voter Services, International Relations, and Local Government/Observer Corps.
The new Board of Directors was approved for the 2024-2025 year. Suzanne Taylor-President, Judy DeAngelis-Small-1st Vice President, Tatiana Rosado-2nd Vice President, Ina Fritsch-Treasurer, Peggy Foerch-Secretary, Audrey Grayson, Maureen Rupe, Michael Kemp, Joy Iventasch, Diane Conaway, Hilah Mercer, Elaine Harris, and Gina Derenge.
The LWV-Space Coast looks forward to helping Brevard County citizens navigate through the election process ahead.

At the Annual Membership Meeting of the League of Women Voters of the Space Coast, members approved the new Programs of Work and the new Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 year. Candidate Forums and several tabling events are planned to help citizens understand the election process and the issues on the ballot this fall.
