FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Be Prepared and Be An Informed Voter This Fall

First, get registered!  National Voter Registration Day is Tuesday, September 17th.  But you don’t have to wait until then; at most public events at parks and other venues, there may be a group ready to register citizens.  Both political parties will be able to register voters at their events or visit http://Vote411.org.

The League of Women Voters of the Space Coast has several tabling events scheduled.  Voters can check to see if they are registered in a quick minute.  Then on their phone or on a computer, voters can register; it usually takes about 2 minutes. For more, visit: http://lwv-spacecoast.org   The last day to register is Monday, Oct. 7th.  Voters need to ensure their signatures match their drivers’ licenses or photo I.D. signatures.

It’s important to be informed before you face your ballot.  The LWVSC hosts several forums this election season.  Voters can hear directly from the candidates.  It’s a Presidential Election and that’s important, but the down ballot races are perhaps more important to get things done in your local communities.

Look for The League of Women Voters at the following events: The Brevard Disabilities Candidate Forum on Friday, Sept. 20th in Rockledge, FL, The NAACP Get Ready to Vote Event on Saturday, Sept. 21st in Melbourne, FL, Pride Fest  on Sat.,Sept. 28th in downtown Melbourne, FL, Candidate Forum at EFSC Cocoa on Tues.
