What is Voter Services?

Empowering Voters Through Vibrant Community Partnerships
Voter Services
is the very heart of the League, and all League members are part of the Voter Services Team.  Members organize and assist with Panel Discussions and Candidate Forums using Non-Partisan formats.  Through our Speaker's Bureau, Community organizations request presentations of Special Issues and Topics of interest to residents.  Our local League engages residents directly during College and Community events to assist them in registering to vote, updating registrations and requesting mail-in ballots.  We speak to people face to face with education about voting and elections and other information about policies and issues determined to be priorities of the League of Women Voters of Florida.

Providing Non-Partisan Resources
Before each election, Voter Services develops the Non-Partisan Brevard County Voter Guide, VOTE411.org.  Our Voter Guide provides a one-stop-shop for election information.  VOTE411.org is an interactive website with personalized Candidate, Amendment and Referendum information specific to each voter's ballot.
Every other year after the November general election, Voter Services publishes the "CONTACT Directory of Elected Officials" which includes detailed information so voters may communicate with all of their representatives-- local to national.  (Funding for the CONTACT brochure is provided by generous donations from the business community and local governments.)  Copies are widely distributed to locations throughout Brevard County, including county government offices, city halls, chambers of commerce and local libraries.

Dedicated to Voters and their Rights
Voter Services is active in election reforms and changes in election laws.  For example, our state League was instrumental in obtaining a Fair Redistricting Amendment to the Florida Constitution after the 2010 U.S. Census.  We follow the state legislature throughout the redistricting process and act to promote the proper district mapping so every voter can be represented in our government.  In 2026, the League of Women Voters of Florida has been active in communicating our opposition with the state Legislature as they progress in likely unconstitutional Mid-Term Redistricting plans.
In addition to raising awareness of voter rights in advance of elections, Voter Services provides Non-Partisan monitors at the polls on Election Day.  We also have a presence at the Supervisor of Elections headquarters during canvassing and vote-counting.
