INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE
The International Relations Committee’s work directly supports the League of Women Voters’ mission to empower voters and ensure responsive, effective government. Today’s most pressing challenges—economic stability, climate change, migration, global health, technological security, and international conflict—do not stop at national borders. They influence the daily lives of Floridians and Americans in profound ways.
By studying international issues, the Committee:
-
Deepens public understanding of how global events affect local communities, elections, and public policy.
-
Promotes informed participation by helping voters connect international developments to the decisions they make at the ballot box.
-
Strengthens democratic engagement by encouraging dialogue rooted in facts, context, and civic responsibility.
-
Advances the League’s values of peace, cooperation, human rights, and accountable governance.
In a world where global and local realities are increasingly intertwined, the Committee’s research ensures that the League remains a trusted, nonpartisan resource for voters seeking clarity, context, and credible information.
