The League of Women Voters of the Space Coast Social Justice Committee Presents Brevard’s Health Outlook
The League of Women Voters of the Space Coast (LWVSC) Social Justice Committee presents Brevard’s Health Outlook with Johnette Gindling, president and chief executive officer of the Space Coast Health Foundation, from 7 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, on Zoom. Ms. Gindling will offer a closer look at the Space Coast Health Foundation’s 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The CHNA is a data-driven report that looks at where we need to improve in Brevard County when it comes to providing access to quality medical care for all residents, the need for more mental health resources and the “social determinants” that highlight the factors preventing a normal, healthy life. Since 2004, the CHNA has been done every three years, and the results of the 2022 survey show that we, as a community, have our work cut out for us as we tackle significant challenges in Brevard County.
The Space Coast Health Foundation is a public charity working on collaborative projects to meet the healthcare needs of our community. These needs are chosen using focus groups, one-on-one interviews and quantitative research to determine specific community health needs.
The League of Women Voters of the Space Coast is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
