Advocacy Training - 11/4/2019

Operation Common Goal is a dynamic activity in which members will partner with someone who looks visibly different from them. They will receive two ropes, and the instructor will show them how to interlock. They will have 10 minutes to get out, and if they do get out, they would put their hands up and find three unique things about their partner. Upon completing this activity, we will discuss the importance of working together and consider how we display teamwork. Then review how color, race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion was not a factor as they were working together for one common goal - getting apart. Additionally, a socialization activity to assist in understanding other's upbringing. Finally, we will discuss the Johari Window, which is a communication model designed to help people better understand their relationship with themselves and others.

Terry Spain will be presenting Operation Common Goal.
